When i was hospitalised for a week i did not make it known to all my friends because i wanted to be alone and do a lot of thinking. This was the only chance that i had to be alone as most of the time i keep myself busy with meetings and doing chores for the family.
For the first few days i felt lonely except for my immediate family who came noisy as usual. Most of the time they were busy scolding me for being too active especially in the last few years after being on my own......
There were times i felt quite guilty for not letting my friends know about me being in hospital.There was one person who knew but i made her promise not to tell the rest.
The days passed so slowly in between naps and watching tv especially one particular sinatron from Indonesia BENCI JADI CINTA i did a lot of thinking......In those moments i made up my mind that as of next year i will stay home and start doing some serious writing something that i had put on hold for many years.I keep telling myself that i just have to start doing the picture book on my almost 40 years of public service of which i have selected the pictures and even kept them aside.I thought of a title it sound like this----I HAVE A STORY TO TELL...... I will arrange the photos according to the ministeries and departments that i served holding positions from an assistant secretary to a Director General and then as a Commisioneer in the Public Service Commission.
I have hundreds of photographs that i have kept over the period of my public service. For my second book i have decided to print all the photos of all the NGO activities covering a period of four decades involving women youths and children and the disabled. That period saw me travelling all over the country as well as Asean and Asia America even Europe! Hows that i was an active member of various NGO and in my personal capacity i was brave enough to be involved in these activities whilst at the same time i was a govt officer.The climax of my NGO life was when i was appointed as Chef De Mission for two Paralympic games one in Bangkok and the other in Sydney in the year 2000.
I have made this my 2013 resolution and insyaALLAH i will embark on it on the 1st of January 2013.......
